my afternoon

I just spent the past two and a half hours hanging the 16 bushels of alaria. It was great! I listened to public radio and there was this great scientist/author David Suzuki talking about global warming- he said something about how Co2 is acidifying our oceans and that reminded of how Larch has mentioned that- I’m going look it up in Ocean magazine down stairs on the bookshelf. He spoke to how each part of nature is dependant upon each other- explaining how the forests in California are dependant on the Salmon to fertilize the soil- that’s why the trees are so big because of the type of nitrogen found in the ocean!  Also he had a lot to say about our and Canada’s economy and the resistance in the governments to use carbon taxes. We sure have a long way to go!

His website looks great!  www.davidsuzuki.org. I like

the section on eating sustainable seafood- I’m sure there are recipes that alaria would be great in. Like this one- Shrimp, Shiitake, and Cucumber Salad with Basil-Coconut Milk Dressing. http://www.agoodcatch.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=2&Itemid=11
